Cooling/heating demand = annual degree days (NOAA). Electricity = state residential average (EIA).
Heat pumps move heat rather than generating it, which makes them efficient in mild weather but also means they need regular attention. Johnstone Supply handles heat pump installation, repair, and routine maintenance. Typical service visits include checking refrigerant levels, inspecting the outdoor unit and coils, testing the reversing valve and defrost cycle, and reviewing thermostat settings. Clear communication about what was found and what it costs is part of the job.
Kansas City's climate swings from hot, humid summers to cold winters with ice storms, so local conditions matter. Technicians working in the Kansas City area see the same seasonal demands that affect homes across the metro, from older ductwork in established neighborhoods to newer subdivisions with tighter layouts. Knowing those patterns helps match equipment and service to the home.
If you are comparing local options, look at reviews, ask about the scope of each job, and request a written estimate before work begins. Johnstone Supply has a 4.1-star Google rating from 57 reviews, which you can read for yourself. For more local heat pump providers, explore listings on HVAC Service Fast.
